Sheffield residents are invited to share the stories behind objects, relics and family heirlooms from World War One.
Sheffield University and Museums Sheffield are co-hosting an open day at Weston Park Museum tomorrow, from 11am to 3.30pm.
Researchers and a photographer will be on hand to record details of the artefacts.
Information about the relics will be used to build a ‘people’s archive for Sheffield’, contributing to Europeana 1914-1918, an online archive at http://www.europeana1914-1918.eu/en.
Military historian and author Tim Lynch will also be present to answer questions about the conflict, while there will also be talks from university researchers, museum curators and history organisations.
