Watch our video of Curtis at the press conference
Former Sheffield United footballer Curtis Woodhouse has taken a friendly swipe at the good people of Hillsborough – the venue for his first bout under the promotional arm of world champion David Haye.
Woodhouse is on Ryan Rhodes' undercard at the Leisure Centre over the road from Sheffield Wednesday's stadium on September 20.
And he picked 'Hayemaker Promotions' first press conference this week, at Rotherham, to have a playful dig at Wednesday.
"I'm a bit nervous about fighting in Hillsborough, being an ex Sheffield United footballer" he said.
"One of my cousins is a very intellectual person, he'd been reading a book the other week, and he said that if you spend any longer than an hour in Hillsborough, you end up with webbed feet and cauliflower ears. So I'm looking to knock the kid out as early as I can get out quickly!"
The 28-year-old welterweight, who also had a spell at Rotherham United, has won seven straight contests since turning professional in 2006.
Woodhouse says his goal is to become a British champion like Ryan Rhodes, who headlines the Hillsborough show.
