Nothing will stop me screaming. Watch Bob Westerdale's interview with Dave Simms
NOW IT'S official - even the medical world wants Dave Simms to pipe down.
Steelers' rink announcer and part time TV and radio pundit Dave Simms has been struck down by a throat complaint, which has threatened to put him out for the rest of the season.
Speaking on video on thestar.co.uk, he said he had chronic laryngitis and had torn couple of muscles in the larynx.
"Seventeen years of screaming and cheering the Steelers has taken its toll" he said, explaining that doctors had urged him to take 15-20 weeks off his work at the Sheffield Arena.
Simms is not heeding the advice though.
"I will play through the pain barrier, perform injured" he said.
"I will keep on shouting and screaming and hopefully cheer the Steelers on to a championship. It will take me more than a dodgy voice box to shut me up!"
Meanwhile, Simms had some good news to announce today: Steve Munn returned to light training yesterday, following his heel injury. Medical advice will determine if he can play this weekend.
