SHEFFIELD FC 2 v SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 2: A SIZZLING goal from Sheffield Wednesday starlet Mukhtar Mohammed signalled an Owls comeback last night.
The young representatives of the Championship club had gone 2-0 behind at Sheffield FC's Dronfield ground.

But Mohammed's devastating shot from the right flank put his team back on track.

Kenny Lunt made honours even with four minutes left.

Wednesday had been sloppy and unco-ordinated in the first half. Centre half Nick Wood was called on to make three interceptions in or around the penalty area in the first 20 minutes.

But he could not prevent Sheffield going ahead, a cross from the left being touched home by Michael Goddard.

The non-leaguers dictated the pace of the game and Goddard's flicked header almost doubled the lead.

Nineteen year old Rocky Lekaj, frequently a threat on the wing, struck one shot over the bar on 33 minutes.

Luke Boden was foiled in a one-on-one with Club goalie Steve Hernandiz, which resulted manager Chris Dolby doling out a mouthful to centre back Jon Boulter.

While Wednesday were imprecise in their passing in the final third, Vill Powell, for Sheffield, caused minor panic every time his midfield got the ball to him.

The Owls were different proposition in the second half.

They conceded a second soon after the interval when Powell got the goal he deserved, spinning away from a defender and finishing in the far corner. But at 2-0 down, Wednesday went full throttle.

The goal of the night came when Mohammed cut in from the right flank and thumped a shot past Hernandiz.

Lekaj had a goal disallowed for offside and tested the keeper with a header, while Goddard wasted one of Club's few second half opportunities.

After a flurry of chances from the visitors, including a struck post by Lekaj, Owls equalised. Luke Boden's strong cross was finished off by Kenny Lunt on the half-volley.

Wednesday pressed for the winner, Lekaj electing to shoot over the bar when a pass looked a better option.

Owls: O'Donnell, Lekaj L, Moc, Lunt, Wood, Liversidge, Connolly, Boden, Tunnard, Lekaj R, Mohammed. Subs: Wragg, Hadfield, Stirrup, Jameson.
