Set against the backdrop of the spectacular Bavarian mountains, 2,000 villagers of Oberammergau will perform their remarkable passion play between May and October in 2010 to over 500,000 visitors.
The spectacle, which is held once every 10 years, was first performed in 1634 as a result of a pledge to God by the residents of the village if they were spared from the Bubonic Plague.
