SPEEDSTER Dean Colton is hoping that the Dons can wing their way to victory in Sunday's Northern Rail Cup final against Salford at Bloomfield Road.
"Providing that the forwards can hold their own, I think that we have the backs to win us the game," said the winger who has made a successful return to the National League Two club following a year at Featherstone.

"I am pleased with how things have gone this season, but one of the reasons for that is the fact that we have got some quality players in the side and they have been helping to create more chances."

Colton is rated one of the quickest wingers in the game but admits that the man he will be facing on Sunday, Paul White, is no slouch.

"White is pretty quick," he said. "But if I can get into him early on then hopefully I can win our battle. He is one of a number of quality players, a lot of whom have played in Super League, in their side.

"They are top of League One and are probably the best side in the National League, but that doesn't daunt us because as a player you always want to test yourself against the best.

"They are obviously the favourites but there will more pressure on them because of that fact.

"I've seen them play a couple of times on Sky this season and they looked strong across the park.

"They have a lot of go-forward up front and they have got backs who can finish.

"I think that we are capable of beating them but it is certainly going to be our toughest game of the season."
