DONCASTER Rovers could be without influential midfielder Brian Stock in tonight's pre-season game against Morecambe at Christie Park.
Stock's wife is expecting their second child any day now and depending on developments he could stay behind.

Rovers, who gave the players the day off yesterday, were due to finalise their squad after this morning's training session

One of the players that they will be checking on is new signing Darren Byfield.

The striker sat out Saturday's game against Scunthorpe after reporting that his groin felt tight following his first training session with his new team-mates the day before.

Fellow striker Jason Price will definitely miss tonight's game despite taking part in Sunday's public training session at the Keepmoat Stadium.

"Jason is getting better every day but he is still a week or so away from being ready for a game," said Rovers No 2 Richard O'Kelly.

Former Scotland captain Steve Pressley, who took the man-of-the-match award against the Iron, is unlikely to feature tonight.

"He played well on Saturday," said O'Kelly. "He was everything that people we spoke to about him said that he would be.

"He'll probably won't be playing tonight but we are still talking to him."

Reflecting on Saturday's 1-1 draw against Scunthorpe, O'Kelly said: "It was a good test for us. They have just come down from the Championship and were well organised.

"I thought that we learnt things in the first half. We dld a lot of good things when things weren't working for us early on. The players were able and compensate.

"Tonight's game will be a continuation of what we did in that game. Results don't matter at this stage of the year; it is all about fitness levels.

You are looking for players to show certain trends in the way they play and the way they do things."

The League Two side, who won four of the five games against Rovers at Christie Park when the two teams were in the Conference, will be looking to bounce back from a 3-0 home defeat by local Championship rivals Preston North End.
