It's been pretty even over the last few years in Spireites-Millers encounters.
After years of Chesterfield domination the most recent half dozen games have seen three wins apiece with Millers doing the 'double' last season, a year after Spireites did the same whilst three season's ago both games were won by the away side.
Spireites are searching for their first home win of the season against the unbeaten Millers. Defeats against Bury and Wycombe Wanderers and the 2-2 draw and ultimate shoot out loss in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy all featured goals conceded from set pieces, an area that's been thoroughly worked through this week.
What do you think? Post your comments below.Jamie Winter, in his first start of the season against Mariners, took a nasty knock on his shin. He's the main doubt for the local derby though Lee Richardson retains hope that he'll be available.
Keeper Trevor Carson is expected to return in goal for Tommy Lee, who took the blame for Grimsby's first goal.
However Spireites will be crossing their fingers that there'll be no fog or strikes tonight. Carson is due to play for Northern Ireland Under 21's this evening away in Germany at Wuppertal with the kick off being at 8.15pm. Any hiccups in the logistics and Lee will have to carry on between the sticks.
Richardson will be hoping for a similar showing to that witnessed against Mariners minus the defensive frailties; "All we can do is look to take things forward. The positives from the Grimsby game were that some of our attacking play was good at times but the major negative was conceding the second goal. The first one, Tommy knows he should have done better with."
