Greg Halford - who failed by a whisker to help Sheffield United into the Premier League has signed for newly promoted Wolves.

The 24-year-old right-back, who can also play in midfield, has signed a three-year contract after leaving Sunderland. He has the option of a further year.

"I'm excited about moving to Wolves, it's going to be a great season and hopefully we can establish ourselves in this division," said Halford.

Kevin Blackwell, meanwhile, has been talks with Tommy Smith, John-Joe O'Toole and Michael McIndoe.
