Everyone has a view when the Steel City's finest face each other but what we want to know is your most memorable derby day goal.
We asked The Star's football experts to name their favourite and want to know which derby day goal stands out most in your mind as we approach the big day.

And if you need some reminders to get your memory going, don't miss our 24 page Steel City
Showdown available in newsagents from Saturday.

Les Payne's most memorable derby goal had to be Dane Whitehouse's opener in the Blades' 3-1 win at Hillsborough in March 1992 but for reasons other than the goal itself.
He said: "It is so memorable for the reaction it sparked coming so early (4th minute), amongst United fans and the red flares they set off... for the ovation that night for Derek Dooley from all quarters on his return to Hillsborough 20 years after his sacking and because, in the absence of The Star and Green 'Un's regular Blades reporter Tony Pritchett, I was designated to cover the United aspects of the game that night."

Paul Thompson opted for Terry Curran's sensational goal during the 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane in April, 1980.
"He got the ball out on the left in an impossible position, a long way from goal and let fly into the far corner," Paul said.
"It has to be the most memorable because it was from a position where he shouldn't have been able to score but he did."

James Shield picked out the moment Carl Asaba opened the scoring for United when they relished their first derby day victory on the blue and white side of the city under Neil Warnock.
To make it even sweeter the victory in April 2001 was the 100th Sheffield league derby.
"For me it has to be that goal just because it was Warnock's first win at Hillsborough," James said.

Martin Smith couldn't resist Chris Waddle's rapid opener in the unforgetable Wembley semi-final of 1993.
"Its a natural choice for the most memorable goal because of the occasion and the quality of the goal," Martin said.

Pick your most memorable derby day goal and share it with the rest of Sheffield by adding your comment below.

has to be Waddle - just pure class and if it hadnt been for Alan Kelly the score would have been 10-1

I want to be greedy and say 2 spring to mind- "Terry Curran's" at the lane stood behind the goal and watched it fly into the net from a shoot the edge of the box. Second has to be "Chris Waddle's" at Wembley what a cracker that was and a good day all round.

The FA Cup Semi-final at Wembley. The most important Derby Day in the history of Sheffield football (and dont let anyone from the red and white half(ish) of Sheffield tell you any different) and the wonder goal from Chris Waddle. Stands out by a mile.

This will be my proudest moment, taking my son to his first Sheffield derby. Living in the Midlands it would have been so easy for him to become a Wolves fan.No hassle from his friends when we loose, or they are above us. You would think that the Wolves game later in the month would be his derby. But no, like many in South Yorkshire, this is the "big un". So come on Ye Owls
P.S could you also win at wolves for a quite life for my son

Bobby Davison at Hillsborough during the 3-1 win in March 1992. Put us in the driving seat for our first win at Hillsborough in ages.
