DONCASTER Rovers could be set to delve into the loan market.
Manager Sean O'Driscoll's team made it a half dozen defeats in a row by losing 4-1 at Barnsley on Saturday.

Striker Gareth Taylor returned to the team after three weeks out injured but Rovers only goal of the game came from Brian Stock penalty.

Rovers have scored just twice in six matches and are second from bottom in the Championship.

O'Driscoll confirmed he was on the look out for fresh, bright talent, but he added: "I've got no problem with the players' ability and their attitude and their will to do well in this division."

The Doncaster boss felt the match changed after Barnsley centre-back and former Rovers player Darren Moore was red-carded early in the second half. Rovers were leading 1-0 and then conceded four goals to the 10 men of Barnsley.

"We know in this division, you can get beaten against 10 men, nine men, whatever. They (Barnsley) still retained their goal threat and their two wingers," O'Driscoll reckoned.

"The first goal we conceded has been our Achilles heel. They've hit a ball in and we've failed to deal with it. And there was a mistake for the second goal.

"Then we were guilty of trying to chase the game and not in the right way."

He added: "I thought we started the second half with a lot of possession and that resulted in one or two chances but things went a bit awry.

"The reaction was that everyone tried to win the game by themselves but you've got to do it in the right way."

Rovers' next match is at home to Blackpool a week on Saturday and the Rovers boss described the break for international football as "a time for reflection".

"Things go against you and you get in a cycle, I suppose," O'Driscoll continued.

"We don't look like a team lacking in confidence. We caused them (Barnsley) problems and we started the second half as well as we've done this season .

"But the result will show a difference aspect of the game."
