THE Football League is planning to dock Rotherham United 17 points, it has been revealed tonight.
And they are insisting the club return to playing in Rotherham by 2012.

A statement, issued following a meeting of the League's Board, said the Millers could kick-off the season playing at Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield, if the club agreed to comply with their ruling.

The League announced that Rotherham have until 12noon on Friday to accept the terms.

A17 point deduction took into account that 'this is the club's second insolvency event in recent seasons', said the statement.

The club must also return to Rotherham inside the next four years. If they do not, a £750,000 bond paid to the League will be forfeited and the club will be excluded from the Football League.

Rotherham cannot appeal these decisions, under the League's ruling which was issued on Wednesday night.

this is disgusting what the football league are doing, luton and rotherham will both go out of business as well as bournemouth, wud they punish man utd, liverpool, arsenal or chelsea this way, i dont think so. i know this is completely different but didnt tottneham do something wrong about 14 years ago and had 12 points seducted and banned from the fa cup, but appealed and got a fine and rotherham cant appeal, all wrong. the top chiefs will always stand by the big clubs and punish the little ones, swindon will swear by that. all the best for the new season
