THE Football League is planning to dock Rotherham United 17 points, it has been revealed tonight.
And they are insisting the club return to playing in Rotherham by 2012.
A statement, issued following a meeting of the League's Board, said the Millers could kick-off the season playing at Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield, if the club agreed to comply with their ruling.
The League announced that Rotherham have until 12noon on Friday to accept the terms.
A17 point deduction took into account that 'this is the club's second insolvency event in recent seasons', said the statement.
The club must also return to Rotherham inside the next four years. If they do not, a £750,000 bond paid to the League will be forfeited and the club will be excluded from the Football League.
Rotherham cannot appeal these decisions, under the League's ruling which was issued on Wednesday night.
