SHEFFIELD Eagles have had enough injuries on their plate without a man with a dislocated shoulder.
But the good news is that boxer Ross Burkinshaw is close to full fitness again - and is getting ready to perform at the rugby league outfit's Don Valley Stadium on October 10.
Trainer Glyn Rhodes is pencilling in a show at the East End venue, also home, of course, to Rotherham United.
Rhodes wants to test Burkinshaw's rehabilitation following the nasty shoulder injury sustained in February as he boxed Huddersfield Syrian Abdul Mougharbel.
What do you think? Post your comments below.Burkinshaw says: "I have been on a specially-designed programme of weights to withstand the impact of a punch and things have gone well.
"I'll be sparring again soon and then hopefully my come-back will be at Don Valley in October.
"The surgeon had to close up a fairly big hole in the muscle in my shoulder but it's close to being 100 per cent healed and stronger than ever."
Burkinshaw, who lives in Oughtibridge, hopes to be in a British eliminator for the super-flyweight belt soon.
"I am very positive," he said. "Having Clinton Woods (former world light-heavyweight champion) training in our (Sheffield Boxing Centre) gym is a great bonus.
"He is a down-to-earth bloke who lets 14- and 15-year-old novices chase him around."
Burkinshaw could box Midlander Delroy Spencer at Don Valley.
