FURTHER talks are likely this week over Rotherham United's prospects of remaining at Millmoor.
Those chances didn't seem high towards the end of last week with ground landlords the Booth family understood to be sticking by their demands after discussions with prospective new Millers chairman Tony Stewart.
If they refuse to budge, it appears the club would be ready to move away and use Don Valley Stadium as a temporary home.
It is estimated the Booths would then lose around £100,000 a year in various ground rent if the club was no longer using Millmoor.
Damaging for the football club would be the loss of their training facility at Hooton Lodge which is also home to their Centre of Excellence and where they stage age-group football on Sunday mornings.
The club would have to find another venue or risk suffering a damaging loss to their youth set-up.
Although the Booths have never courted public popularity, the possibility of them being the people who kicked the club off Millmoor after 100 years plus potentially damaging the youth set-up, together with the prospect of losing a six figure sum, may well persuade them there is use in further talks to try to reach an amicable solution.
It is understood the Booths are intent on maintaining their grip on the land.
While the club would prefer to remain at their spiritual home, they have checked out Don Valley Stadium very closely.
