AKPO Sodje faces a spell of four to six weeks on the sidelines, Wednesday confirmed today.
It is a big blow for the club and the striker after he made his comeback at Derby last Saturday.

He has suffered a tear in the hamstring muscle.

Last Saturday he was taken off in the second half after making his first start since the first day of the season.

Sodje went off in the opening game against Burnley after tearing the tendon that attaches the hamstring to the back of the knee.

Manager Brian Laws said today: "Unfortunately, the results of a scan on Akpo revealed a tear in the hamstring.

"This is not the same injury as before, but once you get a hamstring injury, they are notorious for ongoing problems in the same muscle group and it looks like Akpo will be out for between four and six weeks."

Sodje is a key player for the Owls.

He was hoping that his injury problems were behind him; he also missed the last three months of last season with an ankle injury.

He partnered Leon Clarke at Derby; Laws still has four fit strikers in Marcus Tudgay, Clarke, Francis Jeffers and Deon Burton.

Left back Tommy Spurr (deadleg) and winger Wade Small (hamstring) have not been ruled out for Saturday, and Peter Gilbert (Achilles) and Etienne Esajas (Achilles) should both be fit.

Unbelievable!

The whole training set-up and medical staff need booting out of the club and replacing with a new team, with new ideas and a different approach.

The Owls must have one of the worst injury problems at any club, within football.

Is this a coincidence?

I don't think so! Something is very wrong down there. Let's have a clear out and get some people in that know what they are doing.

I agree as well, what do they have them doing in training, seriously? How come other clubs don't suffer injury problems like this? It is an absolute joke.
I have a season ticket this year, but I tell you something I won't be getting one next year, that is a cert! I can't afford these daft prices and can't bear to see a depleated team trying to compete against other teams that are far superior!
I feel sorry for Laws, he can only get the best out from what he has got, if we stay up I will be happy!
We have been awful and how we beat Donny I will never know, we were lucky, off the pace and in general terms - Garbage!
End of rant!

It's always been the same at Hillsborough, from Mick Prendergast in the seventies, through the Hirst years, onto the the Donnelly/O' Donnell saga, and now into the present time. "Tweaks" should not stop them. Give them an injection and get tehm on the pitch!

Oh please, give it a rest already - injuries are part of the game. If Jeffers is injured it's Law's fault for signing an injury-prone player. If Sodje is injured it's the fault of the medical staff. If all of us strain our back getting out of bed tomorrow morning which member of the Wednesday staff is to blame for that? Why is it always someone else's fault?!
As of now Chelsea have 8 first team players injured, and Man Utd 7 - I doubt anyone will be complaining about the quality of their physio staff or facilities.
This is NOT a global conspiracy or a weird scientific phenomenon localised around S6.
