DONCASTER Rugby League Club, who last played at home over two weeks ago, could have to wait until the last weekend in June before they are in action at the Keepmoat Stadium.
That is the nightmare scenario facing the high-flying National League Two club.
The club's scheduled home match against Barrow was called off last Friday due to the Cumbrians' involvement in the Carnegie Challenge Cup.
The club's home game on Friday week against Rochdale was called off several weeks ago as a result of the two clubs been paired together at Spotland on the same night in the quarter-final of the Northern Rail Cup.
Oldham's victory in the Challenge Cup at Dewsbury on Sunday means that their eagerly-awaited visit to the Keepmoat Stadium on May 30 will not now go ahead on that date - it will be played in mid August - due to the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup being played on that weekend.
"I was gutted to learn that the game had been called off," said chairman Craig Harrison last night.
"We had been expecting our biggest crowd of the season and we had sold all the hospitality boxes and had 200 booked in for a pre-match dinner."
If the Dons, who fancy their chances, were to win through to the semi-final of the Northern Rail Cup that would mean their home game against Gateshead on June 13 being postponed.
"If we were to beat Rochdale and be drawn away in the semi-final it would mean that we wouldn't have had a home game for eight weeks," said Harrison.
"That would mean me having to find over £70,000 from my own money to keep the club going over that period.
"I have had a real go at the Rugby League about it but they say there isn't a lot they can do about it.
"I've rung virtually every club in the league to discuss bringing games forward but the only possibility is of playing Hunslet here a week tomorrow."
