DONCASTER Rugby League Club chairman Craig Howarth has issued a 'hands off' warning to clubs eyeing up the players who have taken them to the top of National League Two.
"I have had two or three phone calls from clubs, one of whom was a leading Super League Club, interested in our players," said Harrison last night.

"Luckily we've got the players concerned on long contracts and I told them that, while ever we have
ambitions to go as high as possible, no-one will be leaving this club.

"I have not put the time, effort and money into this club since becoming chairman just under 12 months ago to bring in such as Ellery Hanley as coach and source good young talent just to sell players on to bigger clubs.

"What is happening as from next season is that clubs will no longer be able to have more than five overseas players on their books, so they are looking for English players."

Harrison says that he has been getting regular calls from players' agents this season.

"Word is getting around that Doncaster is the place to be and I firmly believe that players are pulling out all the stops when they play against us to try to catch the eye," he said.

"That is borne out by the fact that I have been getting calls from agents a few days later asking me if I had noticed a particular player."

The club have been told that young Wakefield scrum-half Kyle Briggs can come on loan until the end of the season.

The teenager produced several outstanding performances during a one-month loan spell earlier in the season before being recalled by the Super League club.

Prop Michael Haley has also returned to the club after being recalled by Super League champions Leeds Rhinos last week.

"Both players love it here and they couldn't wait to get back," said Harrison.
