ROTHERHAM United chairman Tony Stewart has appealed to the Football League to support the club.
Stewart wants help rather than a points deduction after their creditors turned down the offer of a Company Voluntary Arrangement earlier this week.
Although Stewart remains optimistic about the league's decision, he admitted that it would be a blow if they were handed a 15-point deduction.
"It would be a disappointment, after all the support we've had in turning the club around," he said.
"When clubs such as Rotherham have gone into administration and then come through it, there should be an impetus of encouragement."

But bad news for Rotherham is that Luton's financial problems have left them on minus 30 points in League Two.
"Like us, Luton have a new Board and, like us, are being penalised for something under the old regime. The League should be looking at ways of supporting and encouraging teams like us, not hammering us with a points deduction," Stewart stressed.
"They should forget what's gone on in the past under previous chairman and look to the future instead."
The club were making history today with their first appearance at their new home, Don Valley Stadium. The Millers were entertain Derby County with a 3pm kick off.
