ROTHERHAM United have signed Nick Fenton, former Doncaster Rovers central defender, on a free transfer from Grimsby Town.
Fenton, aged 28, is on a two-year deal and is expected to go straight into the side when they play their first game League Two game against Lincoln City at Don Valley Stadium tomorrow, Saturday, August 9. Kick off 3pm.
The Preston-born six footer began his senior career at Manchester City. He made appearances with Notts County and Bournemouth before a spell at Doncaster Rovers and then Grimsby Town.
He was infamously sent off playing for Grimsby against Rotherham at Millmoor last season.
Rotherham have also completed the sale, as exclusively reported in The Star today, of 17-year-old goalkeeper Mark Oxley. He goes to Premier League newcomers Hull City for an initial fee believed to be around £150,000.
