SHEFFIELD'S Johnny Nelson has told Britain's top fight promoter, Frank Warren: 'Call me if you need someone to fight Mike Tyson at short notice.'
Warren's heavyweight hope, Londoner Danny Williams, is scheduled for the biggest pay day of his career, around £500,000, for boxing Tyson in Louisville on July 30.
But WBO cruiserweight champion Nelson stepped in with his stand-in offer during a visit to Warren's offices in Hertford. "I'm serious," Nelson said, "Danny's a good technical fighter but in the past he's had trouble in his head, with his nerves. If that happens, my shorts are made and packed, I'm on the next plane out."
