Where's the support from officialdom?

Hello, I'm an ex-pat Blade living in Oswesty.

I was present at The Bades last game in the Premiership on 15th may 2007 and had hoped that we'd be saved from relegation by West Ham losing at Old Trafford, as they wre playing the Champions elect.

Then, to my horror, I discovered that they'd won. I spent the next 2 hours with my 2 sons and a few friends, drowning my sorrows in one of the city's pubs before being driven back to my home in Oswestry.

Since that sad day The Blades have been involved in litigation to obtain compensation for our loss of Premiership status and it's consequent loss of income.

We have, of course receiveded a judgement in our favour from the Lord Griffiths inquiry and the great and the good of the F.A. and the Premiership are to reopen their own enquiry.

Very obviously, they see now, much too late that they erred in failing to deduct points from West Ham for their infringement of the rules.

However, it seems that their probable action is to deduct points from West Ham, either this season or next .

That's far too late and can only harm The Blades.

If the cockneys get relegated, their income will suffer, as did ours and that will reduce their ability to pay the money that we were awarded by Lord Griffiths. That will not be justice.

Of course it would be open to us to sue the F.A. and the Premiership for our loss of income.

However that could easily backfire. Last time we took them to court, the FA had revenge by allocating to us naff officials. Also, will Sir Trvor Brooking be involved in the new inquiry? As a known sympathiser with West Ham , he should declare himself to be unfit to serve due to a conflict of interest. But, he didn't last time and thereby dishonoured his order of knighthood.

Lets face it The Blades are an unfashionable Northern club, who have little support from officialdom.
