SHEFFIELD are unlikely to bring in a replacement for the injured Emiliano Sanchez.
The Argentinian champion crashed out of last week’s defeat to Scunthorpe and has a suspected fractured scaphoid with further X-rays due in a fortnight.
It is believed he has a hairline fracture in his hand and Tigers team manager Dave Hoggart doesn’t expect an extended spell on the sidelines for his man.
He said: “Emiliano has around 10 days before his next examination, and then he will either be okay to start racing again or they will tell him to rest some more. He certainly won’t be out for as long as first feared so I can’t see us needing to replace him.
“The rest of the team covered his absence well with Joe Haines, Hugh Skidmore and Ricky Wells filling in very well. We can be a bit up and down, but they pulled it out of the bag and we need them to continue to do so and we’re confident we can cover his rides.”
Hoggart praised Ricky Wells who top-scored with 14 last Thursday - “he makes it look effortless, he’s coming into form and great to watch.”
