Sheffield’s Jonny Marray begins his season today at the ATP250 Series tournament in Auckland with new doubles partner Paul Hanley.

The pair have been drawn against American Eric Butorac and South African Raven Klaasen in the first round of the Heineken Open.

A victory in New Zealand could see them take on third seeds Jamie Murray and John Peers in the last eight.

The 2012 Wimbledon doubles champion Marray, aged 32, has teamed up with Australian Hanley after his regular partner from last season, Colin Fleming, returned to fellow British player Ross Hutchins, who has now recovered from Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

This tournament will be the final one before the Australian Open in Melbourne - the first major of the year - begins later this month.
