DONCASTER Dartes’ swimmer Max Litchfield has again been selected to attend the annual British Talent Camps.
The first, a three-day residential course, will be based in Coventry later this year.
The second part of the talent camp will be held in January at Millfield. The final part will take place April in Torremelinos.
Selection is based on points scored at Nationals in Olympic events with the idea being to provide a seamless pathway for talented English swimmers and coaches to help fulfil their potential.
Litchfield, who won three bronze medals at the 2009 Youth Nationals, bagged a brace of silver medals in the the 100m backstroke and the 200m individual medley in the recent 2011 championships. He set club records in both events.
Litchfield’s medal haul lifted him to sixth in the list of Dartes’ most successful swimmers of all time.
Team-mate Richard Lee, who had never previously reached a national final, made the finals of both the 100m freestyle and 50m freestyle
Dartes’ Chloe Selman was named young achiever (girl) at the Federation of Disability Sports Organisations annual awards Ceremony. Ben Sweeny of the Edlington club won the boys award.
