Three-time world champion Nick Matthew hopes to hit top form when the Canary Wharf Classic gets underway next week.
The Sheffield star wants to atone for his semi-final defeat to England teammate Peter Barker in the tournament last year.
Matthew, who has won the title three times in his glittering career, said: “I really love the vibe at Canary Wharf and it’s one of, if not the best, atmospheres on tour. I was struggling around that time last year so excited to try and put on a better show for the Canary Wharf crowd this year.”
World number one Matthew begins his campaign against Scottish wild card Alan Clyne on Monday March 24. He is seeded to meet James Willstrop in the final.
