England coasted through to the last 16 of the World Team Championships in Germany, after completing a pool stage whitewash.

England followed up 3/0 wins over Spain and Germany with a convincing display over Ireland to set up a last 16 tie with Hong Kong.

Peter Barker and Daryl Selby both won quick fire matches – they lost just 17 points between - before Sheffield’s world number one Nick Matthew completed their pool matches with a third straight 3/0 victory following his 11-9, 11-6, 11-4 win over Arthur Gaskin, Ireland’s only world ranked player, on a bouncy outside court.

England coach Chris Robertson said: “We are feeling and looking good so far.”
