Wells ready for Owlerton debut
RICKY Wells lands back in the UK today to step up his preparations for a busy season with Sheffield.
The Californian has been spending track time with world champion Greg Hancock and is ready for his Tigers debut on March 22 against Belle Vue at Owlerton. It’s an early return for Wells who will also be riding for Wolverhampton in the Elite League.
He said: “I’m looking forward to the season, people say it’s an early return but the way I look at it there’s a month to prepare for the new season.
“It’s a big season for me with both my teams. I’ve enjoyed my time back home riding pretty regularly and having fun along the way. But it’s time to get serious.
“I’m pleased to be riding for Sheffield, it’s a good track for me and I get a feeling I will have a good season because I’m doubling up. Things started to go well for me last year when I started doubling up with Plymouth and Wolverhampton so I’m confident I can do well from the start. I’m feeling physically fit and can’t wait to get started.
