We won't get carried away

TIGERS boss Eric Boocock will take no notice of the traditional pre-season predictions from speedway writers up and down the country.

The Speedway Star magazine asked all club correspondents to forecast the Premier League standings for the campaign starting on March 18 at Owlerton. And early indications from the publication are that Sheffield are widely regarded as a top three team alongside Birmingham and King's Lynn.

But Boocock says: "All I'm interested in is my own team. I certainly feel we have a good team but I'm not going to agree or disagree with predicted league tables because we have to concentrate on each meeting as it comes. We'd like nothing more than to bring success to Sheffield once again, but we have to have a lot of luck along the way.

"We've put a team together which can do a good job this season."
