Unfinished business in Berwick for Tigers
TIGERS boss Eric Boocock insists his riders are on unfinished business when they travel to Berwick in their final Premier Trophy clash of the season tonight (7pm).
They make a swift return to the border club after their original trip last month was abandoned after 11 races due to a time curfew - not helped by lengthy treatment to Tigers rider Ritchie Hawkins for a broken and dislocated wrist.
Boocock's boys were leading at the time and were devastated when the referee was forced to call a halt.
Said Boocock: "It was the type of performance we really needed because we were looking for a confidence boost and now we have to go back there and do it again.
"All the lads are up for it. There's nothing we can do to change what happened up there last month, we have to take the positives and at least we know what we can do."
"Of course our riding order is different now with Cooper and Parsons at reserve and whether that will make any difference we just don't know.
"We can't qualify for the semi-finals, but we have a lot of important Premier League meetings coming up so we need a good performance up there, especially after we were rained off on Thursday which left us all very frustrated."
It's a big night for Berwick who need to win by 10 points or more to reach the semi-final stages of the tournament.
Fans travelling to Shielfield Park should take their copy of the programme from last month's staging as they will be given a free copy of the newly printed version for tonight. The parade of riders will be at 6.50 with the first heat at 7pm.
Berwick's team manager is former referee and Jordanthorpe-based Dave Peet - facing his home-town club.
BERWICK: Michal Makovsky, Gino Franchetti, Paul Clews, William Lawson, Josef Franc, Greg Blair, Sean Stoddart.
SHEFFIELD: Ricky Ashworth, Hugh Skidmore, Chris Mills, Richard Hall, Josh Auty, Joel Parsons, Paul Cooper.
