Sheffield Tigers speedway fans should know in the next few days who will be in charge of the club next season.
The Premier League speedway outfit has been up for sale since August but current owner Neil Machin has taken his time to look through interested parties.
Now he is facing up to decision time with at least two different parties registering a genuine desire to take over from the well respected promoter.
Sheffield have already missed out on at least two potential signings due to the uncertainty surrounding the club ownership - one as recently as Friday when an international star snubbed the club because nothing was delivered in writing.
Now the matter needs to be resolved once and for all with fans, riders and sponsors desperate for a solution.
Co-promoter David Hoggart said: “Neil has kept me updated throughout the process and hopefully a decision, one way or the other, will be forthcoming very shortly.
“People need to understand Neil has put over 20-years of his life into Sheffield Speedway and he has, quite rightly, taken his time to try and reach the most satisfactory conclusion.
“In the meantime, Neil and myself would like to wish all Sheffield Speedway supporters a Happy Christmas.”
n Sheffield are in line to host the prestigious Premier League Riders’ Championship in September. The dates and venues of the major events series are expected to be confirmed in January with Owlerton regarded as the traditional home of the event. But the date will only be confirmed once the international calendar has been finalised to ensure the full availability of riders.
