SHEFFIELD have pegged admission prices for their bumper double-header of racing at Owlerton on Thursday.
The Owlerton club are holding 30 races of National League action as the combined Sheffield – Scunthorpe team face Isle of Wight at 7pm followed immediately by Belle Vue. It promises to be an entertaining night and club owner Neil Machin believes it represents great value for money.
He said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone who has never tried National League racing to sample it on the fastest track in the country.
“The standard of National League racing is excellent and I’d urge fans to come along show their support for the youngsters. Ashley Birks, who rides for our Premier League team at reserve, has really found his form and is sure to be a big scorer on Thursday. He was brilliant at Scunthorpe last Friday when they demolished Dudley.
“The weather forecast is good, admission prices are normal and the children are off school so we hope to see one of our bigger National League gates for this. We have also arranged with our landlords that the full restaurant facilities will be available, so it really is business as usual.
“This team also has a great chance of winning the title in my opinion. They are on a great run of form and must fancy their chances of winning both meetings on Thursday. They are racing for each other and showing great determination. Two wins from Thursday would see them virtually secure their place in the play-offs which would be excellent.”
