Tigers co-boss Damien Bates has labelled the start to the season ‘a big success’.
The revamped Owlerton side open their home League Cup programme against Newcastle tonight on the back of a stunning win at Scunthorpe on Sunday.
The only blemish was the rain which brought Monday’s individual meeting to a halt.
Bates, who is fronting the new consortium in charge of the club alongside Simon Parker and Peter Mole, says it’s a case of so far, so good.
“Apart from the rain it’s been a big success,” said Bates “We had a good crowd turn out on Monday night and it was disappointing that it ended how it did. A lot of people have underestimated us but we’re happy with that. “If we can continue to creep under the radar then I’m confident we can go on and make the play-offs.”
