Firstly, on behalf of the team, I would like to apologise for our performance at Scunthorpe last Friday (31-63 )and I think the result showed the need for change within the side.
Unfortunately Jake Knight was the victim of our poor showings and he was released on Saturday, and I really wish Jake all the best.
Coming in is Adam Roynon and I want to welcome Adam to the club.
He is a great addition to the team and I feel his signing turns us into a team capable of challenging for silverware.
Last Saturday, I was invited into BBC Radio Sheffield to chat about speedway and I hope you all tuned in to hear me flying the speedway flag, it was great to be included on the show and have the opportunity to get some coverage for our great sport.
I really enjoyed myself and hopefully we have made a few more people aware of what a great product we have at Owlerton!
One of the major benefits to being a sportsman is being able to get involved with some great causes and this Friday I’ll be supporting The Children’s Hospital’s ‘Make It Better Day.’
There are a lot of local businesses and individuals getting involved and I have got involved through my sponsor Pow UK.
I will be visiting Thurgoland Primary School on Friday as they host a non-uniform and activity day to raise money and Pow have kindly produced and donated T-shirts for students to sell and wear on the day.
I will be taking my bikes down to the school and hopefully I can help raise lots of money for a charity that is very close to my heart. There is still time to get involved and anyone wishing to do so can download a fundraising pack at www.tchc.org.uk/makeitbetterday or donate via text by sending MIBD28 and the amount to 70070.
Every little really does help and together we can all help to make it better.
Finally tomorrow a Sheffield select team take on the world famous Dudley Heathens in a challenge meeting. Our new boy Adam will be representing Dudley before he dons a Tigers race-jacket so anyone wishing to get a sneak peek of our new signing can head down to Owlerton on Thursday where it’s reduced admission. It should be a great night of racing!
