Tai-ed in for farewell

TAI Woffinden, the Great Britain World Cup star now based in Sheffield, has added his name to Shane Parker’s farewell at Owlerton on March 18.

Woffinden, who is also the godson of Tigers owner Neil Machin, joins the best riders in the world including current World Champion Greg Hancock and Australian duo Chris Holder and Darcy Ward.

Parker has retired after a glittering career spanning over 20 years in the UK and he won a place in Tigers fans’ hearts with a stunning swansong season in 2011.

Woffinden said: “I’ve bought a house in Sheffield and I’ve had a lot of work done on it, but everything will be ready for the new season. It will be nice to start the season at Sheffield for Parks’ big day.”
