Simon Stead has apologised to Sheffield fans for last week’s double defeat to Redcar.
The Tigers were soundly beaten at home on Thursday before being blown away in Teeside in the reverse fixture the following day, with their lower end vulnerability exposed by a powerful Redcar bottom end.
Stead roared to a perfect maximum at home but struggled away and for the first time all season he didn’t win a race, and now the Star columnist has moved to say sorry to the Tigers faithful.
He said: “As a team we apologise because we just weren’t good enough, we had two bad nights. With Richard (Hall) out we needed all six of us to step up but it didn’t happen and Redcar made us suffer.
“They had Micky Dyer at reserve and he is going brilliantly at the moment.”
