Sheffield Tigers are waiting on news of injury victim Richard Hall before making any decisions going forward.
The Yorkshireman suffered an upper arm injury in Saturday’s defeat at Berwick, thought to be either a broken arm or shoulder, and he was taken to Wansbeck Hospital.
Hall will almost certainly face an extended spell on the sidelines but how long depends on the results of his scan, but team boss David Hoggart wasn’t hopeful of a particularly speedy return.
He said: “It’s a broken arm or shoulder and it’s just a savage blow for Richard.
“He’s in the form of his career, his longtrack season starts soon, he’s qualified for the British Final and then he gets this. It’s really sad. If it’s his arm, we’re probably looking at four to six weeks and if it’s his shoulder it could be up to 10. We just don’t know yet but we’re gutted because Richard has been in blistering form.”
Hoggart has also publicly backed Australian reserve Damien Koppe, who has struggled for form so far this year.
“We know Damien isn’t getting the points but he is a very, very capable motorcyclist,” he insisted.
