Sheffield star Ty Proctor believes things are moving in the right direction as he looks to hit top form.
The Aussie ace has experienced a difficult start to life at Owlerton having been snapped up by the Tigers back in May.
Proctor has so far failed to meet high expectations during a tough spell – and he admits he has been ‘bitterly disappointed’ with his form.
But he put in his best performance for the club to date against Berwick last Thursday, scoring a hard-fought eight points and helping his side snatch a draw in a tense heat 15 decider.
Said Proctor: “Obviously I haven’t lived up to the hype and expectation that was placed upon me when I signed and that I place upon myself anyway.
“Nobody is more disappointed with how I’ve performed so far than me – I’ve been bitterly disappointed with how I’ve been riding for Sheffield but it hasn’t been through a lack of trying.
“I’m putting in a lot of effort at the track and away from the track to try and make sure I start riding to the best of my ability and reaching the performance levels I know I’m capable of.
“I had a really good meeting on Thursday where I felt I was riding really good lines and was a lot more comfortable on the track. I just need to sort my gating out and then I’m confident I should be fine.
“I want to be a success here at Sheffield and I’m enjoying riding for the club – I’ve just got to knuckle down and get through this tough patch.”
