David Hoggart has admitted Sheffield’s chins were on the floor immediately after their thumping defeat at Newcastle.
And the Tigers are now sweating on the fitness of three key riders ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Glasgow at Owlerton.
Facundo Albin, Damien Koppe and Joe Haines were all struggling at Brough Park on Sunday – Albin has badly bruised ribs and both Koppe and Haines have aggravated previous injuries.
Boss Hoggart said: “I’m sure everyone can imagine how down we were, our chains were on the floor to be honest.
“We were all a bit down over Ricky Ashworth’s bad crash at the weekend but then we went out and did our best in the meeting. We are awaiting news on the three injured lads ahead of Thursday and we will take it from there.
“On the plus side I would like to thank Kevin Doolan for doing a smashing job as guest and I thought Ricky Wells was excellent for us.
“We’ve booked Richard Lawson to cover for Simon Stead on Thursday and naturally we hope the three other lads will be passed fit. We need to get back to winning ways.”
