SIMON Stead will be a marked man in the new Premier League season according to Tigers owner Neil Machin.
Stead, an Elite League title winner with Swindon last year, is preparing for an emotional return to his hometown club after last appearing in Tigers colours a decade ago.
And Machin believes Stead will be the stand-out rider in the league as he looks to help Tigers restore confidence.
Machin said: “I imagine he’ll start the season pretty much as the man to beat in the league. All the young guns moving through the league will be going out wanting to take a point off Simon Stead, I don’t think there’s any question about that. Simon has been around long enough to know he won’t be able to give anyone a start anywhere.”
