DAVID Hoggart is confident that his team have the tools to get a result at Scunthorpe this evening.
The Sheffield promoter knows his side are underdogs against a much fancied Scorpions team, but believes his team can cause a shock in North Lincolnshire.
He said: “It is going to be a very challenging fixture but the boys are confident and if we ride like we did last week I feel we can get something from it. Scunthorpe are second in the League Cup table but we aren’t far behind them.
“They’ve just signed Jerran Hart and he may be a little rusty after not riding so far this year, and we will have Klaus Jakobsen back in the team too.”
Jakobsen returns after a short injury lay-off and Hoggart hopes that the Dane will pick up where he left off: “Klaus has full movement back in his shoulder and has undergone intense physiotherapy this week.
“He’s as good as new and hopefully he continues in the same vein as last week, if so we’ll be in with a good shout. Hugh Skidmore always scores well there and Richard Hall was their captain for a time, so we have guys who know how to ride the place.”
Last night’s home fixture with Berwick was rained off after consistent downpours from 6pm made the track un-raceable. The re-scheduled meeting will now take place next Thursday.
“It didn’t start raining until six o’clock but from then on it didn’t stop. The Top Gun Individual meeting that we had planned will now be re-scheduled and the Berwick meeting will take place next week at the usual start time of 7.45pm,” said Hoggart.
