Sheffield are making plans to extend their season beyond the regular Premier League schedule.
The Owlerton side have two more meetings on the fixture list – Ipswich away this Thursday and a home meeting with Somerset on September 12.
But club bosses are currently in talks with other clubs about potentially two more home meetings in addition to the showpiece Premier League Riders’ Championship on September 22.
Club co-promoter David Hoggart said: “We’re not in the play-offs but we don’t want to bring the curtain down just yet.
“We always take pride in giving our season ticket holders value for money and we are looking at ways in which we can promote some more home meetings, maybe two.
“It would involved us riding away too and we want to put meetings on with a difference. We want to provide added interest for the fans.”
Hoggart has also confirmed the club are in talks with Berwick about the possibility of a benefit meeting for stricken ace Ricky Ashworth. Ashworth, still a Tigers asset on loan to the Bandits, remains in hospital but is no longer on a life support machine after his crash last month. There are some positive signs of progress although he remains in a coma at this stage.
Hoggart said: “We are talking to Berwick about the possibility of doing something and we would very much like to play our part in making that happen.
“All at Sheffield Speedway continue to send our very best wishes to Ricky and we are keeping everything crossed for a complete recovery in time.”
