Australian Hugh Skidmore is raring to go with Sheffield’s season only seven weeks away.
Skidmore, 20, will jet back into the UK next month to step up his preparations for the season. He was one of the first riders to put pen to paper on a new deal for the 2011 campaign in November. Now he is ready to progress his career with a big season, his third with the Owlerton club.
“I had a good 2010, I made progress and was happy with the way everything went,” he said. “I’m relaxing during the close season but will be ready for the start. I know I can improve my average in 2011 and it would be nice to have a crack at the heat leaders. I’m developing all the time and happy with the way everything’s going.
“There was never an issue over me signing again for this year, it was all sorted before I came home and I was pleased to know I had a place in next year’s plans.
“I like the way the team is shaping up, everyone seems pretty enthusiastic about it.”
