Joe Screen has revealed how the Sheffield management already have one eye on next season.

And he says clubs who want to be successful need only to look at Poole and their club owner Matt Ford who has a reputation for producing brilliant teams on a regular basis.

The former rider, in his first season in charge of the Tigers, has pointed to the fact that the consortium were playing catch-up last winter in piecing a team together after the purchase of the club dragged on.

Now he says they have a perfect chance to start putting plans in place to hit the ground running in 2015.

Screen said: “We’re already looking at getting the right things in place for next year.

“The new promotion came in quite late during the winter and had to put a team together as quickly as they could.

“The coming winter will be their time to really stamp their mark on things and they have plenty of ideas.

“It is all about building up our base of rider assets and also have a good look at the younger generation of riders coming through.

“You can never get too far ahead of yourselves though because you don’t what rule changes are going to happen, but it is important to have an idea of what you want to put together for the following year.

“That’s what people like Matt Ford down at Poole have so much success because they are always planning in advance.

“We also need to make sure we finish this season on a high. It’s been a hellish one really with so many injuries and rain-offs, but we’ve got so many meetings still ahead and that could work in our favour if we get on a bit of a roll.”

Tigers are back in action at Owlerton tomorrow when they face Redcar with the return Premier League fixture at the South Tees Motorsport Park on Friday.
