RICKY Wells is starting to feel at home at Owlerton after his best performance of the season on Monday.
The New Zealander, who represents America in the World Cup next month, came under fire from Tigers supporters in recent months for failing to replicate his Elite League form for Sheffield. Last Monday, Wells was only beaten by an opponent in one of his finished races and says it was good to finally feel comfortable around Owlerton.
He said: “My Premier League form was frustrating me but that turned to anger as I didn’t know why it was happening.
“Sometimes you have to sit back and take a look at things and that’s what we did. Monday was a huge step forward. It was the fastest and most comfortable I’ve felt at home. I’m starting to get dialled in now.
“My Elite League average is a point higher than my Premier average this year but that will change now because I’m starting to feel like things are really clicking together with Sheffield.”
