Sheffield are already making plans for next season and could unveil their first signing at the club’s presentation night.
Tigers’ management team have a good idea of the side they want to put together and are determined to challenge for honours after injuries scuppered this season’s chances. An end of season party will take place at Owlerton on October 16 and co-promoter Damien Bates hopes to be able to name the first rider.
He said: “We’re already on with planning for next season. We still have one away meeting at Scunthorpe but that’s it. I’d urge supporters to purchase tickets for the presentation night in advance because we only have a limited number. We have ambitious plans, we want to put this club back up with the top teams in the league and we will be doing everything we can to be successful in 2015.
“I feel we didn’t do too much wrong with this season’s side, but injuries scuppered any chance we had of making the play-offs.”
Meanwhile the club have confirmed they will be opening next season with a benefit meeting for former skipper Ricky Ashworth which is set to capture the imagination of fans throughout the country.
Ashworth needs 24-hour care at home after a horrifying crash last year which saw him in a coma for weeks.
He remains a firm favourite with Sheffield fans and still holds the Owlerton track record.
