Sheffield Tigers co-boss Peter Mole is expecting tomorrow’s trip to Glasgow to be the perfect advert for Premier League racing.
The meeting will be shown live on Sky Sports, away from their normal live coverage of the Elite League.
It’s the second successive season Sheffield have featured on TV after the cameras were at Owlerton last season for the clash with Somerset.
And Mole said: “It’s a major honour for Sheffield Speedway to feature on TV and we are delighted to be selected to face Glasgow.
“Glasgow were the pre-season title favourite with the bookmakers and the journalists in the trade press, but we will go there with nothing to fear.
“I’m particularly looking forward to seeing all the improvements at Ashfield Stadium because they have spent a lot of money up there and that has to be good for British Speedway.
“It’s nice to see the Premier League featured on Sky once again and I have no doubt this will be a good meeting and the perfect advert for the sport, particularly at this level.
“We know it will be a tough meeting, but we have a bit of confidence right now because we had a couple of cracking away wins over Ipswich and Redcar.
“We will go to Glasgow looking to take something from the meeting.”
Sheffield have booked former Glasgow rider Josh Grajczonek as guest cover for the injured Simon Stead and the rest of the side is unchanged.
Glasgow include Nick Morris who has featured for Sheffield as cover since Stead’s injury.
