SHEFFIELD co-boss David Hoggart has admitted his team found track conditions at Glasgow on Sunday extremely testing.
The Tigers went down 54-39 after a tough start and Hoggart feels that the recent track changes affected his side.
He said: “The track was very difficult, it has changed a lot and it is completely different from when we have been there before. We normally do okay there.
“It took all of our riders at least a ride to figure the place out whereas the home riders knew where the pitfalls were and where to avoid. We didn’t have that luxury, it took us a ride before we knew that so you effectively chalk off everyone’s first ride. Glasgow had more of a home advantage than they have had previously.”
It was a disappointing result for the Owlerton men but Hoggart wasn’t too downhearted.
He said: “It was the start of the meeting that really did for us, we coped well after that. We had a bit of bad luck, but there is definite room for improvement.”
Sheffield face Scunthorpe at Owlerton on Thursday (7.45pm) when ex-Tigers Josh Auty and Ashley Birks return. There are rumours that Ricky Ashworth could line up at No 1 in place of the injured David Howe for the Scorpions.
