Sheffield have exciting plans for their 2015 with the aim of challenging for silverware – that’s according to club co-promoter Peter Mole.
Tigers have so far only confirmed the signing of local lad Ashley Birks for a second spell with the club after he made the switch back from Scunthorpe.
Mole, who is preparing for his second season at the helm alongside Damien Bates and Simon Parker, is excited by the potential line-up subject to riders agreeing contracts.
He said: “We’ve got a good team up our sleeve if it all falls into place combining the best of last season and some exciting additions.
“Things still have to fall into place but it’s certainly got potential. We feel we have an exciting team on paper and if they all sign we will be entertaining next year for sure.
“I thought we were the unluckiest team in the Premier League last year. We brought in Ty Proctor and we didn’t see the best of him, he’s got so much more to offer and then he got hurt.
“Taylor Poole was hurt, so was Leigh Lanham, Andre Compton’s season was ended in late July and it was just a nightmare for us.
“Now we need a clear run for next season with no or few injuries and some good fortune on our side to make up for what we went through this year.
“I’m pleased Ash Birks is back at the club, he’s a good guy to deal with and we just need these other signings to fall into place. Hopefully it will happen in the near future, but I would ask our fans to be patient and have faith in what we are trying to do.”
Other Premier League clubs are well down the road towards completing their team but it is understood Tigers bosses are keeping a close eye on the reserve draft which takes place today for all Elite League clubs.
Josh Bates could be included as a selection for a top flight club and the rider allocations should be known by 1pm.
