SHEFFIELD owner Neil Machin has warned his team their behaviour in the closing weeks of the season will impact on team building next year as the Tigers face high-flying Newcastle at Owlerton tonight (7.45pm).

Machin, whose team have only two fixtures remaining this season, said: “Last week we had Josef Franc comeback from injury and he probably came back a tad early, but that is commendable. What I was not happy with was that Josef was forced to take Heat 15 following a refusal from the rider who should have partnered Richard Hall, which reflected badly on the team manager and the club.

“It was selfish, unprofessional conduct - which cannot be condoned - and it will inevitably influence future team selection. As we plan for next year, we will of course take things like that into account. We do not want to end our Premier League home campaign on a loss. It will require a valiant effort from our riders.”

TIGERS: Pepe Franc, Hugh Skidmore, Rider Replacement for Emiliano Sanchez, Richard Hall, Ricky Wells, Chris Schramm, Joe Haines.
