EMILIANO Sanchez wants to establish himself in Sheffield’s top three next season.
The Buenos Aires born rider was one of the first names back on the Tigers team sheet for 2012 alongside popular young Australian Hugh Skidmore. And he admits last season was tough as he grappled with engine problems and also struggled to make ends meet financially as a professional rider. He said: “Speedway is very expensive and it was very hard for me to time so I have to say thank you to everyone who helped me, my management and sponsors.
“Sheffield is a great club and I am very pleased to be back with them. I like the track and I like the people and although we have a lot of new riders this year I feel we can do well. I want to establish myself in the top three of the team and I don’t see why I shouldn’t.
The new season at Owlerton sees Tigers face Belle Vue on March 22. But the first track action of the year will be on March 18 when Shane Parker, stages his farewell meeting with a world class field.
